NEWSLETTER — APRIL 2024
Representing all certified organic operators
2024 membership fees
Membership fees for Organic Industries of Australia Ltd are due for the 2023-24 financial year.
OIA represents organic operators, and we also work closely with organisations of consumers who buy organic products.
Our strategy
We have a clear strategy to advance the interests of the industry:
- we need a co-regulation model—supported by Governments, but managed by industry
- export regulation should be aligned to dometic regulation
- standards need imrovement to world best practice, fit for future and sustainability
- we need to grow the industry in line with global consumer interests in sustainable food
Domestic regulation
We are dedicated to supporting any positive action for organic operators in Australia.
Over the past year, we have actively supported the Organic Development Group, which is a collection of certifying and representative bodies of the Australian organic industry. We have provided technical and critical analysis to each step in the ODG process toward regulation of the organic industry.
ODG has been pursuing an information standard under consumer law. OIA has concerns about the details of this proposal, but has been supporting the process. We recognise that there are numerous pathways to protecting consumers of organic products and certified organic operators, and will actively pursue multiple initiatives to achieve a better regulated framework.

Your membership is important
We value your membership in two ways:

- Your financial contribution helps us undertake policy development, industry coordination, provide industry information, and engage in lobbying activities
Yours sincerely,
